Switzerland has strict pet import rules. Cats and dogs must be microchipped, vaccinated (especially for rabies), and may need a health certificate. Some dog breeds are banned in certain cantons, and training courses may be mandatory for larger breeds. You must declare your pets at customs, or you could face delays or worse. Once here, dogs must also be registered with the local commune and often taxed annually. The upside? Switzerland is very pet-friendly, with plenty of trails, green spaces, and even dog-friendly public transport.
